Some software being tested:
- gpsbabel - text based and its too difficult to use as there is not much documentation.
- josm - Java based and took so long to load. Uses the gpsbabel engine to generate maps.
- qlandkarte 0.7.3 (keeps crashing when I load a map and GPX) - Can view the maps on Linux

gpsdrive looks like it is still work in progress. The next time I get another gps, I will definately give it a try.
