Centos 6.3 defaults with the Gnome desktop. After installing / creating a custom application, how do you add it to the start menu?
Answer: Install alacarte
Step 1: Install Alacarte
# yum install alacarte
Step 2: Add the new program as a menu item.
Click System ->Preferences ->Main Menu
Choose the menu and add the new item.
