Setting up printer for Kubuntu

The KDE system on Kubuntu uses network discovery to find the available printers. This means, users do not need to manually add printers. This is done in 2 steps.

Step 1:
At the KMenu choose Applications ->System ->Printer Configuration.

Step 2:
Choose Server settings and check the "Show printers shared by other systems". Press "Apply".

Users need to wait for about a min for the first time discovery of the printers. Press Ok and test the printings.

Hi
Great tip for helping newbies at Linux like me. This is the first time I ever used Kubuntu Jaunty Jackalope and it is so much different than my old Windows XP computer and even better.
Setting up my printer became so easy after I read your help page.
Great article. It is such a joy to be online without having to worry if my computer is protected. I personally switched to Linux because it is far less hassle and more to enjoy!
